Is Southsea Skatepark a free skatepark?
No, we charge to enter because the park is supervised by staff at all times.
Is there an age limit for users?
We have no age limit but children under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Can I hire safety equipment?
We hire helmets at £1.00 per session. We recommend that everyone wears a helmet but they are compulsory for anyone under 16. Over 16s who do not want to wear a helmet must sign a disclaimer. We also have a limited number of scooters and skateboards for hire.
At what age can I leave my child?
Any child under 8 must be accompanied by a responsible adult. Over 8s can be left.
Are you able to spectate at the skatepark?
We welcome spectators who are allowed in free, except during certain events.
Can I bring my own refreshments to the skatepark?
You can but a good range of hot and cold drinks and snacks is available from our cafe.
Is the shop still open if it’s raining?
The shop is open whenever the park is open, but if we’re forced to close the park due to rain or wet surfaces, the shop is open for the following hours:
Saturdays – 12.00 to 5.00
Sundays – 12.00 to 3.00
Can I pay by debit or credit card?
Yes you can, including contactless.
Can I hire the park for a birthday party?
Yes you can – just pick up a party information pack from the park or email us and we can send you the pack. Please note that the park is an alcohol free venue.
Do you do single-sport sessions e.g. BMX only or scooter only?
Most of our sessions are open for all sports but the Wednesday 6.15 – 9.15 session is BMX only, and the Thursday 6.15 – 9.15 session is Skate night – for skates and skateboards.
Do you offer coaching in all sports?
We do, subject to coach availability.
