Skatepark Terms and Conditions of Use

Please follow the following terms and conditions of use when at Southsea Skatepark.

 

Completion of the registration form is required to use the skatepark.

Acknowledgement of Risk

  • I am aware of the risks involved in using Southsea Skatepark and I have sought medical advice for any ailments/medical conditions which
    may put me at risk whilst using the park.
  • I have declared any existing injuries and medical conditions to Southsea Skatepark Trust and I am fit to participate.
  • I accept the risks involved in using Southsea Skatepark and for my own safety I agree to follow all instructions given to me by any member
    of staff.
  • I accept that I am responsible for my own actions and/or involvement.
  • I give permission for medical assistance to be given in the event of an accident or emergency.
  • I agree to follow the rules and guidance set out below.

Safety

  • Further safety guidelines can be found in the sections entitled ‘Equipment’ and ‘Park Etiquette’, participants, including spectators, should read the whole of this document.
  • It is recommended that ALL participants wear satisfactory safety equipment including helmets, wrist and elbow guards and knee pads.
  • It is compulsory for ALL participants under 16 years of age to wear helmets. Helmets must be worn with the chin strap done up tightly enough not to come off on any impact.
  • Anyone suspected to be intoxicated or under the influence of drugs will not be allowed to enter or remain in the Skatepark.
  • Alcohol is not permitted on Southsea Skatepark premises.
  • Smoking is not permitted on Southsea Skatepark premises nor within 5 metres of the doors.
  • Spectators must not enter the riding/skating areas.
  • No food or drink may be taken into the riding / skating areas.

Equipment

  • All equipment must be in good working order with no loose parts.
  • Skateboards must have no sharp edges and must have sufficient deck grip.
  • All bikes and scooters must be fitted with bar ends.
  • Southsea Skatepark Trust does not accept responsibility for the loss, theft or damage to valuables or personal property of participants.

Skatepark Etiquette

  • Be aware of other park users at all times – do not do anything that endangers their safety or yours.
  • Know your limitations when using the park.
  • Do not walk, ride or skate across riding / skating lines.
  • No sitting on the ramps.
  • No running, shouting or screaming.
  • Bullying, abusive behaviour or violence towards staff or other users will not be tolerated.
  • You are expected to deposit any litter into the bins provided.
  • If you notice any hazard or damage you must report it to a member of staff. Vandalism will not be tolerated.

Photography

  • I give permission to Southsea Skatepark Trust to photograph or film me as a participant in the park or as a spectator. I agree that the photographs or films so taken may be used by Southsea Skatepark Trust for the purpose of promoting the park.
  • If I take photographs within the park, I will be bound by the terms of the Skatepark photography policy (copies available in reception).

Children Under 8

  • Children under the age of 8 years must be accompanied at all times by a responsible adult (aged 18 or over).

Data Protection/GDPR

  • Southsea Skatepark Trust does not sell, transfer or otherwise disclose the personal information given in registration forms, unless required to do so by law.
  • Personal details are stored securely and registration form information will be retained for as long as the individual names on the form continues to use Southsea Skatepark
