27 Mar Spanner – Full Event Details
WRISTBANDS AND TIMES
Our countdown to Sunday’s Spanner Southsea Shutdown continues!
As you will know every person coming to the 4 hour shutdown will have during the event a 1 hour exclusive session with Spanner. Before the doors open we will have staff walking the queue checking ticket details and handing out coloured wristbands, with a different colour for each of the three exclusive sessions.
We are hoping to process as many tickets/wristbands as possible before the doors open at 11am. When the doors open we will just need to see the wristband for quick entry. For the people we haven’t had time to pre-check in the queue we will have a number of staff on the door helping get everyone in as fast as possible.
Times during the shutdown event will be:
– 11am to 12pm, Everyone together with Spanner
– 12pm to 1pm, Wristband colour 1 Exclusive Session in the rink
– 1pm to 2pm, Wristband colour 2 Exclusive Session in the rink
– 2pm to 3pm, Wristband colour 3 Exclusive Session in the rink
About 15 minutes before each exclusive session we will announce what colour wristband will need to come to the rink. The rink will be fenced off with an entrance manned by staff checking wristbands as people come in. We aim to begin the exclusive session on the hour.
For everyone else, we’ll be enjoying the rest of the skatepark, the bowls, driveway, two mini ramps, flatbars, hip and more. Expect some giveaways too!
Near the end of the exclusive session we will announce what colour wristband is next, and will do our best to quickly and smoothly have people leave and the next group arrive in the rink.
We will not be announcing the what wristband colour is for what exclusive session in advance, as the colours will be distributed randomly on arrival.
We expect to overrun at 3pm as people and Spanner begin to leave the skatepark. If you are coming to the 3pm session after the Spanner event please be advised it may be delayed by approx. 30mins or so. We really appreciate your patience.
WHERE TO QUEUE
With the event likely to sell out later today, we have planned what to do with the queue for people wanting to enter on Sunday morning.
We will be asking people to queue from the skatepark reception entrance and then circle the perimeter of the skatepark, going anti-clockwise around (north from entrance). Staff will be at the door from 10am onwards and will be there to help.
We will have not just four members of skatepark staff on the day but also a number of volunteers, we will do our very best to get everyone in the skatepark as quickly as we can. We really appreciate your cooperation and patience.
The skatepark doors will open at 11am but if you need the loo whilst waiting there is a public toilet over by the D-Day Museum carpark, about 3 minutes walk away.
PARENTS/CARERS ENTER FOR FREE AND COFFEE VAN
Parents are welcome to can come in for free as spectators. Please remember that under 8 year olds must be accompanied by a supervising adult.
We will have THE CLUB HOUSE coffee van on site throughout the day with snacks, etc. available.
We have lots of seating around the skatepark and will be encouraging parents/carers to also use our spectator stand too.
REGISTER IN ADVANCE
In advance of the Spanner Southsea Shutdown, to save time on the day please complete online the Skatepark User Registration Waiver in advance, if you haven’t completed it already.
We are expecting lots of new people to visit our skatepark this weekend and every skatepark user needs to complete the waiver themselves (if 16 or over) or have a parent/carer/guardian complete it if they are under 16.
We would really appreciate it if you could take 2 minutes to complete the simple online form in advance of the day, it will dramatically speed up everyone getting in to the skatepark, ready for the main event.
Simply click on the button below to get started, and check our Terms and Conditions.
TICKET INFO NEEDED ON THE DAY
In the morning before the doors open at 11am our staff will be walking the queue checking tickets and handing out wristbands to get in to the Spanner Southsea Shutdown. When the doors open we’ll do a quick simple check of the wristband on entry. There will be three different coloured wristbands that will be for each 1 hour exclusive session with Spanner in the rink area of the skatepark. We’ll announce which colour for which session on the day.
In the queue we will be checking your Order Number and the name of the person who made the order for confirmation. You just need to bring along on the day a printed out copy or screengrab copy of your order receipt, with the order name and order number on it. Please make sure your have that proof of purchase with you for entry.
Our new online store seems to have had an occasional issue with emailing order receipts after purchase and we’re working to fix it asap, sorry about that. If you do not have a receipt email for your ticket purchase, please email paul@southseaskatepark.org ASAP and we’ll check your order information and send you a screengrab you can use on the day.
Southsea Skatepark and Spanner are looking forward to welcoming everyone to the Spanner Southsea Shutdown, see you very soon!
